Betty Bentley established the Dance Academy in 1959 in Hilton Park. Additional branches have been opened in Willetton in 1979 and Port Kennedy in 1995.
Classes in Jazz Ballet, Tap, Classical Ballet, Hip Hop and Acrobatics are conducted for children from three years of age and adult classes are available in Tap and Jazz.
We understand that children take classes for a variety of reasons so we endeavour to cater for all needs from those interested in fun & fitness to the students aiming at taking examinations and performing.
The Academy has an excellent teaching staff who are able to offer students a high level of instruction. All teachers are fully qualified with certification from

Annual Performance
Concerts are performed in December for which participation is optional.

Examinations
Examinations are offered to all students in Jazz, Tap, Classical Ballet. Though they are not compulsory, we do encourage our students to work towards exams as the process improves technique and provides a goal for students to strive towards.

Term Dates
Our term dates coincide with school terms.

Uniform/Discipline
Students are required to wear specific uniforms for each class. Uniform details are outlined on the 'Uniform Page'. The uniform can be ordered through our receptionist or the class teacher.
Grooming is an integral part of dance. Long hair must be pulled back neatly for all lessons in a ponytail or french plait. A bun is compulsory for Classical Ballet .
No jewellery to be worn at class, with the exception of ear studs.
Punctuality is important. Students should arrive 5-10 minutes prior to scheduled class time to enable a complete warm up.
